We have known Javier for more than 28 years, since the early days of our own tango journey, when he was already an established professional dancer in Buenos Aires. Throughout the years, we have admired not only his artistry, but also his integrity, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the values that make Argentine Tango a living culture.
We are equally delighted to welcome Patrice, whose artistry and sensitivity have become an essential part of this beautiful partnership.
At Athens Tango Odyssey, we believe that great artists deserve not only our applause, but also the opportunity to be seen, appreciated, and celebrated. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do as organizers is to shine a light on those whose work has quietly enriched our community for many years.
It is therefore a true honor and a heartfelt tribute to present Javier Antar & Patrice as the featured artists of our Pre-Party. Originally from Argentina, Javier is internationally recognized for his profound and contemporary vision of tango. Through his work with Tangonexion in Prague, he has dedicated his career to exploring the living traditions of Buenos Aires while fostering a modern understanding of social tango—where communication, listening, and the embrace are at the heart of every dance.
Based in Prague, Patrice is admired for her elegance, sensitivity, and refined musical interpretation. Her dancing combines technical precision with warmth, naturalness, and effortless communication, embodying the essence of tango as a genuine dialogue between two people.
Together, they create a partnership built on trust, creativity, and deep musical connection. Their dance is not based on choreography, but on the freedom of improvisation—where every movement is born in the present moment. Their performance is an invitation to experience Argentine Tango in its purest form: authentic, intimate, and profoundly human.
