Athens Juneteenth Celebration 2024

The AADM is pleased to announce that we will host the 2024 Athens Juneteenth Celebration. We have curated an event that includes opportunities for all ages to participate and focuses on creating a positive experience through music and live entertainment that is festive, reflective, educational, diverse, and inclusive.

This event will be held on Saturday June 15th, 11AM-3PM, begins with community speakers at City Hall in front of the Juneteenth Flag. This will be followed by a march to College Square for a block party, which will include a stage with a DJ and live performances of hip-hop and soul music, community speakers sharing the history of Black Athenians, a fashion show, tables staffed by local nonprofits sharing community resources, vending opportunity for local BIPOC business owners and an interactive educational art exhibit.

What to expect?

• 9:00am Vendors setup
• 10:30am Pre-ceremony. Meet us at City Hall and march with us to College Square.
• 11:00am Festivities begin. Open to the general public.
• 11:30am -3PM Guest Speakers, live performances and a fabulous fashion show.
