We are thrilled to announce that the construction of the Athene Pedestrian Bridge is nearing completion, and we look forward to celebrating its grand opening on Thursday, November 21, at 3:30 PM. Join us for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at the bridge's north end, where we will gather to mark this significant milestone in our community’s development. Parking is available at the Raccoon River Park Boathouse (2500 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines) for those planning to attend the celebration. A scenic half-mile walk will lead you to the bridge. If you need transportation assistance, fear not — we will provide a pick-up service from the Boathouse to ensure everyone can participate in the celebration.
We deeply appreciate your patience throughout the construction process, as this project has been a long time in the making.
