About this Event
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses® (ATCN®) is an advanced course designed for the registered nurse interested in increasing his/her knowledge in management of the multiple trauma patient. ATCN® was developed to teach established standards of care and practical, life-saving skills.
The ATCN® course is taught concurrently with ATLS®. This allows physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses to have the opportunity to share a common language and approach to trauma care.
This a two day course that includes didactic presentations coupled with practical skills stations and moulage assessment stations which demonstrate the application of the didactic information.
Didactic Lectures: Initial Assessment & Management of Patient, Airway & Ventilatory Management, Shock, Abdominal Trauma, Thoracic Trauma, Trauma in Women, Trauma in Extremes of Age, Head Trauma, Spine Trauma, Musculoskeletal Trauma, Secondary Survey, Burn & Cold Injury, Transfer to Definitive Care
Skills Stations: Initial Assessment & Management, Airway & Ventilatory Management, Pediatric Trauma, Hemorrhagic Shock, Musculoskeletal & Spine Trauma, Head Trauma
TARGET AUDIENCE
Recommended for emergency/trauma and critical care nurses with at least 2 years trauma experience. Previously completed TNCC for ED nurses.
EVENT DETAILS, DATES, & LOCATIONS
Day One: 7:30am - 5:00pm
Day Two: 7:30am – 5:30pm
Skills stations with take place at Davis Global Center; Didactic Lectures will occur on UNMC campus - location will be sent prior to class, along with course materials.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
19.0 contact hours will be provided the Society of Trauma Nurses.
COST
Cost is $400 which includes ATCN & ATLS® manuals, handouts, and lunch.
REGISTRATION, CANCELATION, & REFUND POLICY
Course space is limited. Registration is due a minimum of three weeks prior to class in order to receive course materials by mail and to complete online learning requirements.
There will be a $100.00 charge for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the course. Course day no-show registrants and all cancellations less than 2 weeks from course date will forfeit the entire registration fee. All class materials must be returned no later than one week post course in order for the refund to be processed.
