About this Event

As part of our Museums in Conversation collaboration with the University of Chicago's Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures Museum, young explorers are invited to step into the role of an archaeologist through a hands-on activity designed to spark your childs curiosity and get imagination running.

Children will have the opportunity to handle replica artifacts, examine their features up close, and try thier hand at making inferences just like real archaeologists.

Children will get to handle objects ranging from pottery to mysterious objects from long ago. Junior archaeologists will consider what these items might have been used for, who might have made them, and what they can tell us about the people who made and use them.

This interactive activity encourages observation and critical thinking in a supportive environment where kids can learn by doing.
