About this Event

Open to all Creighton students, faculty, and staff. Dinner will be served, followed by a panel discussion and small group conversations. You are encouraged, though not required, to register for all three sessions.

Aug. 24: Session 1: "Family Style": Understand the challenges and opportunities that the Creighton family is facing in response to the recent climate survey

Sept. 7: Session 2: "Buffet Style": Privilege: Listen and discuss how privilege shows up in the Creighton community and how community members navigate it

Sept. 21: Session 3: "Home Cooking": Authenticity: Living authentically in community

These events provide a "brave space" to share stories, confront challenges and have conversations in which all voices, especially those who've felt marginalized, are heard. Our inspiration comes from the analogy of the "kitchen table" as the place for honest dialogues with those we trust, as used by Michelle Obama in her memoir, Becoming.

Hosted by Creighton Intercultural Center; Creighton University Division of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion; Creighton Students Union; Kingfisher Institute for the Liberal Arts and Professions
