About this Event

Follow the story of Penny as she overcomes her fear of diving under the big waves in Catapult Dance Company's At the Beach. It's a salty belly flop into the pleasure and pain of family camping holidays.

Roland Harvey's much-loved picture book is told with thigh-slapping wit and a delightful mix of dance, comedy and physical theatre that is sure to entertain children aged 3-8 and adults alike.

About the venue

The Multi-Arts Pavilion mima (MAP mima) is the first of its kind in Australia – an agile space designed to host national and international contemporary art installations, theatre performances, music and more.

MAP mima is located in Speers Point Park, off Park Street, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. The venue is accessible by ramp with accessible toilets, and can be reached easily from the lake foreshore cycleway, the water, or by public transport. There is plenty of parking for cars, and buses with accessible spaces available, onsite and in the surrounding parklands.
