ASU Gammage Gammy and Jerry Awards Dinner:
About this Event

Join us on Monday, March 8, 2027, for an unforgettable evening at the Gammy and Jerry Awards Dinner as ASU Gammage honors the visionaries whose generosity, leadership, and passion continue to elevate the performing arts and enrich our community.

This year, ASU Gammage is proud to present the Gammy Award to LaChanze in recognition of her extraordinary leadership, artistry, and enduring impact on the American theater. A Tony Award winning performer, acclaimed producer, and influential advocate, LaChanze has transformed the industry through her commitment to artistic excellence, equity, and opportunity. From her inspiring performances on Broadway, including her memorable appearance on the ASU Gammage stage in If/Then, to her leadership as President of Black Theatre United, her service on the Board of Governors of The Broadway League, and her work with Broadway Green Alliance, she has helped shape a more inclusive, sustainable, and vibrant future for the performing arts. Her vision and dedication continue to inspire audiences, artists, and communities across Arizona and around the world.

We are equally honored to present the Jerry Award to the Polk Family/ Margaret T. Morris Foundation. Led by its founders, Gene Polk and his son Tom Polk, and carrying forward that legacy with Tom’s sons, John and Steven, the Margaret T. Morris Foundation provided the lead gift for the construction of our elevators and additional restrooms, enhancing accessibility and comfort for countless patrons. Its transformational gift during ASU Gammage’s 50th Anniversary campaign helped replace the theater’s sound system, ensuring an exceptional experience for audiences for years to come. Most recently, the Foundation made possible the refurbishment of our theater floors, preserving and revitalizing a treasured community gathering place. Beyond our physical spaces, the Margaret T. Morris Foundation has also championed our BEYOND programming, helping us bring arts and cultural experiences to broader audiences throughout the community. Their commitment has strengthened our mission of Connecting Communities and helped ensure that ASU Gammage remains a welcoming and inspiring place for all.

Guests will enjoy an unforgettable dinner served on the iconic ASU Gammage stage, followed by an exclusive first look at the 2027–2028 Broadway season. Featuring dazzling performances, special surprises, and insider previews, the evening offers a unique celebration of the transformative power of the arts. The night concludes with a festive dessert reception onstage, providing the perfect finale to an evening of inspiration, impact, and community.

Net proceeds of the event will benefit ASU Gammage’s Rigging System.
