About this Event
Astronaut for a day is a full day event hosted by Zenith Pathways, a nonprofit organization that delivers Canada's first space fellowship program, run by volunteer undergrads and graduates passionate about making the space industry more inclusive and accessible. The intended format of this event is to simulate what it is like to train like an astronaut and go to space.

- 🕗 Time: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- đź“Ť Location: Concordia University
- 🎯 Who can attend: Students currently in Grades 5, 6, 7, & 8, in Quebec
- đź’¸ Fee: $25 (early bird), $30 (general admission)
- 🍽️ Food: Please bring your own lunch
The event will be from 8:30am to 4:30pm and the following activities will be covered in ~1hr time slots:
- Geocaching/ Navigation - Learn the importance of spatial awareness/ navigation
- Physical Training - The importance of physical health on earth prior, and on the ISS
- Space Medicine - Learn about projects related to space medicine
- Science Training - Crash course on astronomy/physics concepts
- Space Robots- Learn about important robotics projects in space
- Planetary Science-Learn how to use geology to analyze a planetary body
- Guest speakers from the space industry! - Learn and ask questions first hand from the experiences of space industry professionals
If your child is interested in what it is like to become an astronaut or to learn about the space industry in general, this event is for them!

*Workshops and speakers will be primarily delivered in English.
* Children with special needs are encouraged to apply, but one parent must be present.
*Media consent form and Zenith waiver form will be sent out with registration.

« Astronaute d'un jour » est un événement d'une journée entière organisé par Zenith Pathways, un organisme à but non lucratif qui offre le premier programme de bourses spatiales au Canada. Ce programme est géré par des étudiants universitaires de premier cycle et de cycles supérieurs bénévoles, passionnés par l'idée de rendre l'industrie spatiale plus inclusive et accessible. L'objectif de cet événement est de simuler l'entraînement d'un astronaute et un voyage dans l'espace.
DÉTAILS DE L'ÉVÉNEMENT

- 🕗 Heure : 8 h 30 – 16 h 30
- 📍 Lieu : Université Concordia
- 🎯 Qui peut participer : Élèves actuellement en 5e et 6e année du primaire, et en secondaire 1 et 2 (Grades 5 à 8) au Québec.
- 💸 Frais : 25 $ (tarif hâtif), 30 $ (admission générale)
- 🍽️ Nourriture : Veuillez apporter votre propre dîner.
L'événement se déroulera de 8 h 30 à 16 h 30 et les activités suivantes seront réparties en blocs d'environ une heure :
- Géocachette et navigation : Découvrez l'importance du repérage spatial et de la navigation.
- Entraînement physique : L'importance de la santé physique sur Terre avant le départ, et à bord de l'ISS.
- Médecine spatiale : Découvrez des projets liés à la médecine spatiale.
- Formation scientifique : Cours intensif sur les concepts d'astronomie et de physique.
- Robots spatiaux : Renseignez-vous sur les projets importants de robotique dans l'espace.
- Sciences planétaires : Découvrez comment utiliser la géologie pour analyser un corps planétaire.
- Conférenciers de l'industrie spatiale ! Apprenez et posez vos questions directement à des professionnels en découvrant leurs expériences de première main.
Si votre enfant souhaite découvrir ce que c'est que de devenir astronaute ou en apprendre davantage sur l'industrie spatiale en général, cet événement est pour lui !

INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANTES !
- Les ateliers et les conférences se dérouleront principalement en anglais.
- Les enfants ayant des besoins particuliers sont encouragés à s'inscrire, mais un parent doit obligatoirement être présent.
- Le formulaire de consentement des médias et le formulaire de décharge de Zenith seront envoyés avec l'inscription.
- Une décharge parentale obligatoire doit être signée et envoyée à l'adresse courriel ci-dessous avant l'événement.
