This production celebrates 1960s mod culture, silver-age aesthetics, and spy-thriller tropes through a contemporary & queer lens. A swinging sixties live music spectacle where world-class burlesque,
drag and comedy collide to tell a story of self-discovery and sexual sovereignty.
Here's the narrative:
This edition features a central storyline where drag king, Ass Catchum performs as Asstin Powers, a non-binary, demisexual spy who loses their "mojo". The antagonist, Dr. "Good" (performed by local drag king, Fun-Fetti), steals and
forces Asstin to chase him through different time periods. The show begins in the 1960s and moves forward toward the
present day, with each number serving as a step in the journey.
The cabaret is from 7:30PM to 10:30PM at 56BERLIN in Ottawa's ByWard Market.
