Assessing & Treating Suicidal Ideation: A Best Practice Framework
About this Event
About 5% of adults in the United States report having suicidal ideation in the past 12 months (Cenetr for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2025). The small fraction of people who experience suicidal ideation will attempt suicide. This presentation will help clinicians assess for suicide, ideation and patience, including factors that are associated with suicide behavior. A best practice perspective on how to provide treatment for suicide ideation will be provided. In the case of suicide behavior, legal, ethical, and therapeutic considerations will be discussed.
