About this Event
Event Description:
Assemble is excited to once again partner with guest expert Eva Conrad for a night of sensual play and creative exploration!
Eva will lead us through a guided sensory experience with clay, inviting you to embrace curiosity, engage your senses, and explore the relationship between touch, texture, and form.
This workshop holds no intention for the end result, participants are encouraged to work with non attachment. We will take time with specific motions in clay, adding water, asking the clay what it wants from us. From there we will work on exploring forms that can function as a sensory toy for yourself or for another.
Participants will be asked - what would you want to share about the way you touched clay? Is there a way to capture that in a finished work?
No prior experience with clay is necessary — this workshop is designed for curious minds and open hands. Come prepared to leave dirtier than when you started!
Work will be fired and glazed for you and delivered to your home.
About Eva Conrad:
Eva Conrad makes ceramics and paintings that straddle contemporary art and craft traditions; through an interest in the longevity of creating beyond necessity. They weave patterns in and out of their ceramic sculpture and paintings repetitively as meditation on systems of being. Her work emerges in the world as a reflection on beautiful moments of attentive introspection, queer identity, intuition and curious play amid seemingly rigid binary systems.
