Assemble is thrilled to welcome back guest expert Vic Adair for an engaging and hands-on evening of community and creativity! Whether you're a die-hard crafter or a complete beginner, this event is perfect for anyone looking to dive into the art of chainmail.

In this introductory chainmail class, Vic will guide you through the fundamentals of this ancient and intricate craft. You'll be introduced to the four most essential chainmail weaves: the classic 2-in-1, the versatile 4-in-1, the structured Box Weave, and the dynamic Byzantine Weave. These weaves form the backbone of chainmail, offering endless possibilities for unique designs.

By the end of the session, you'll have the skills to create your own custom chainmail jewelry or accessories. Choose from a variety of projects like a personalized keychain, a stylish bracelet, a thick collar, or even a set of statement earrings. No matter what you decide to make, you'll walk away with a deeper appreciation for this historic craft and a handmade item to be proud of.

21+ Nights include instruction, materials, snacks, and drinks! Free tickets are available for Garfield residents, with a selected number of scholarship tickets also available to anyone for whom full-price tickets are prohibitive!

Ticket prices cover the cost of staff time, materials, and food & beverages. Any amount made beyond these expenses goes towards supporting Assemble’s free STEAM programs, such as afterschool and summer camps!

About Vic Adair:

Vic Adair is a multidisciplinary teaching artist, with focuses in jewelry design and DJing! For their real job, they turn people into magical creatures at Renaissance Faires and music festivals across the country. Their passion is in building community through the arts and in finding ways to play as an adult.
