In case of rain, we will meet inside the University Center (cafeteria seating by the windows - or I will make an update post here)- Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, Hearing, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Fluent - everyone is welcome!
- This is a practice/conversation meet-up group, not a class.
- All skill levels welcome! But it’s a good idea to know the basics (more than just finger spelling) before coming to a meet-up. I suggest completing Bill Vicars Lesson 1 (https://www.lifeprint.com/asl101/lessons/lesson01.htm) (takes about 1hr).
- All meetups will be VOICE-OFF (no speaking). I will bring paper and pens/markers and/or a dry erase board for people to use (you’re also welcome to bring your own.) to write out anything we don’t know how to sign yet or that someone doesn’t understand.
- Please have patience with each other! There will likely be a lot of asking to repeat signs/not understanding - this is why we’re practising!
- There will be zero tolerance in this group for discrimination of any kind (Racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, etc.)
