ASL Class for Vendor

The ASL Shop is offering free ASL classes for individuals interested in improving their communication skills in American Sign Language. The best part? These classes are entirely free of charge!Class Details

We offer two (2) classes: one in-person and one online. You may select one class or both time slots. However, if you select both slots and one of the classes (in-person or online) is full, we will assign you to the available slot.

Class Duration: January 28, 2025, to May 15, 2025

In-Person Class:

Days: Thursdays

Time: 11:30 AM - 1:30PM

Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Both classes will follow a cohort-style format, meaning you will learn alongside the same group of participants throughout the course. For those seeking Continuing Education Units (CEUs), attendance at a minimum of 90% of the classes is mandatory, with no more than two (2) missed sessions allowed. Consistent attendance is crucial to meet CEU requirements and to develop effective ASL communication skills.

Upon successful completion of the beginner course, you will be eligible to enroll in the intermediate course, which will run from June 3, 2025, to July 24, 2025. The intermediate course will also follow a cohort-style format and will be conducted online. Completion of the beginner course is required before registering for the intermediate class. Both the beginner and intermediate classes will accommodate up to 12 students each.

Once you submit the registration form, we will review your application to confirm eligibility. If approved, you will receive an email with:

If we are unable to accommodate you in your preferred class, we will provide additional class options, place you on a waitlist, and share alternative resources to support your learning journey.

Important Note: Submission of the registration form does not guarantee enrollment. To ensure fairness, we prioritize applicants who:

• Serve larger numbers of DeafPlus consumers.
• Require one-on-one communication support, such as individuals living alone without access to sign language.
• Individuals who require ASL to ensure health and safety, increase self advocacy and communication, and promote community integration improve communication.
