ASIST training in suicide intervention

In this potentially life-changing training, you will explore how to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide and how to connect with them in ways that help you understand and clarify that risk, increase their safety and link them with further help.

The event cost of $80 is significantly subsidised by The Alliance for Suicide Prevention to make the training more accessible to the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie communities. We have also reduced the cost of full priced tickets from $300 to $200 for residents of other regions who would like to attend. We have been able to offer these substantial discounts due to funding from the Australian Government's Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program.

Who should attend?

This training is for everyone aged 16 years or older. Virtually anyone can learn the skills to intervene and save a life from suicide. If you want to be able to help someone in need, in much the same way that you might learn CPR, please consider this training to help us create a suicide-safer Sunshine Coast.

All day free car parking is available at the Thompson Institute.

Please note this training is offered at a subsidised rate to make it accessible to the community. For this reason, refunds cannot be issued to those who do not attend on the day or who cancel within seven days of the event.
