ASID Restaurant Design Week 2026 | Night Four: Fish Shop
About this Event
ASID Washington Metro Chapter presents
NIGHT FOUR Restaurant Design Week at Fish Shop
Eater DC's restaurant design of the year, and one of the most unusual spaces in the city.
Fish Shop is not a restaurant that commissioned art. It is a restaurant born from art. It lives under the Artfarm umbrella — the organization behind Hauser & Wirth, founded in 1992 and representing 90 artists and estates globally. The room reflects it: a Phyllida Barlow original on the wall. A custom tartan installation. Handwoven fish baskets suspended from the ceiling.
The materials are as considered as the curation. Tabletops are cast from 100% recycled plastic — yogurt pots, medical supplies, fishing nets — recyclable again at the end of their life. The bar top is recycled glass, ground and reheated into sediment-like layers. The bar lamps are made from glass waste. This is eco-conscious design at the level of fine art.
Your table of 10 is joined by ASID Washington Metro Chapter President Kia Weatherspoon and the evening's sponsor — one table, twelve seats.
