*What is Human Library?

A Human Library is an interactive event where people, called "books," share their personal experiences to challenge stereotypes and foster understanding.

Concept and Purpose: The Human Library is a global movement that began in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2000. Unlike traditional libraries, it lends people instead of books. These "human books" are individuals who have experienced prejudice, social exclusion, or stigma, and participants, known as "readers," can ask them questions to better understand their experiences and challenge their own biases. The primary goal is to reduce prejudice, promote empathy, and encourage dialogue between people from different backgrounds.

How It Works: During a Human Library event, each human book shares their life story, including challenges, values, and experiences of discrimination. The events are designed to be interactive and personal, allowing readers to ask difficult questions and gain insights that are not possible through conventional learning through open dialogue.
