About this Event
TOPIC: Decarbonization with Air-Source Heating
It's no surprise to Canadians that a large portion of our buildings' energy use is attributed to heating in the winter and shoulder months (and in some cases the summer months.. eek!). Traditionally, buildings have been designed to heat with high GHG emitting oil and gas products. With the push for decarbonization there exist new technologies that allow for heating while also making the critical shift away from GHG sources. During this presentation we'll learn about how we can incoporate air-source heating technology to satisfy our building's heating requirements.

About the Presenter: Mike Genin, P.Eng
Michael Genin is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University. He has spent his career in the industry with many different manufactures of chillers, heat pumps, other HVAC equipment. Today he focuses on specialized zero carbon "active" heat-recovery systems for commercial and industrial buildings. Michael is a past-President of the ASHRAE Toronto Chapter and is currently the Regional Vice Chair of Government Affairs for Region II (Eastern Canada).

*Cape Islander is an open faced filet of salmon, stuffed with scallops, shrimp and fresh asparagus drizzled with a creamy hollandaise sauce.
**Roast Pork is a boneless pork slow cooked in the oven with special herbs served with gravy mashed potatoes and veggies.
