Ashoka Demokratie MutTankstelle V - Celebrating Solutions in Action!
About this Event
Join Ashoka for the fifth edition of the Demokratie MutTankstelle in Vienna. Under the theme “Celebrating Solutions in Action”, we will bring together leading social entrepreneurs, changemakers, and engaged citizens to explore how innovative ideas and courageous leadership can strengthen democracy and civic participation across Europe and beyond.
This gathering is designed to spark meaningful conversations and foster collaboration. Whether you are a social entrepreneur, activist, student, policymaker, or simply curious about positive social change, this is your space to meet like-minded people and recharge with fresh inspiration.
And because solutions also deserves celebration, we’ll continue the evening with a relaxed get-together, including drinks, networking and space to connect. 🥳
Special Guests
We are excited to welcome an inspiring group of Ashoka Fellows:
- Diana Filimon - Founder of “Forum Apulum”
Diana has developed a new approach that sparks young people’s curiosity and empathy for those with different views and experiences, increases their appetite for complexity and nuance, and continually challenges their unfounded and dangerous sense of certainty produced by – among other forces - algorithmically tailored media consumption.
- Javier Pérez González - Founder of “Political Watch”
Javier Pérez is redefining the relationship between civil society and the executive, legislative and judicial Powers of the State—shifting it from peripheral influence to a model of structured, sustained, and collaborative governance. Through Political Watch, he is building the civic architecture—tools, alliances, and norms—that enable civil society to move beyond fragmentation and reactive protest, and instead operate as a coordinated and strategic ally shaping public decisions from within.
- Bernardo Gonçalves - Founder of “Mypolis”
Bernardo is igniting the spark of democratic participation in young people by creating a new architecture to work with their local political representatives to make a real, tangible impact on their community.
- Kristina Krömer - Founder “metro_polis”
Amid growing polarization and distrust in Germany and Europe, Kristina is reimagining transportation – a forum that reaches citizens from all walks of life – as a modern day, mobile agora by facilitating dialogues that foster empathy and connection. Through metro_polis, Kristina is bringing democratic participation into the daily lives of citizens – including those who are particularly hard to reach – and offering a path to revitalizing civic participation and the foundations of democratic society.
Together, they will share insights, stories, and solutions from their work strengthening democracy, participation, inclusion, and social innovation across different contexts and communities.
