The presentation will dive into the benefits of writing performance-based specifications verses focusing on material specifications. The discussion will include national studies to show how open competition helps to drive down project costs. The conversation will then shift to the current CDOT specifications, while highlighting the current 624 open drainage specification. The presentation will conclude with additional examples of performance-based specifications from other DOTs across the country.
