Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of repentance, reflection, and spiritual renewal in the Christian tradition. Observed 40 days before Easter (excluding Sundays), it is a solemn day when many Christians receive ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross, accompanied by the words, "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." This ritual serves as a reminder of human mortality and the call to turn back to God through prayer, fasting, and acts of charity. Ash Wednesday sets the tone for the Lenten journey, inviting believers to deepen their faith and prepare their hearts for the celebration of Jesus’s resurrection. Here's the schedule:
11:00 am--1:00 pm "Ashes to Go" (drive thru on our parking lot for those who are not able to attend the evening church service)
6:00 pm--6:40 pm Opportunity for Private Confession and Absolution ("first come, first absolved" located where Pr. Steve is set up in the Education Wing. Follow signs)
7:00 pm Holy Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes
