About this Event

This is a great opportunity to visit the Gardens and what they have to offer are doing to support science teachers biologists or not

This one-hour taster session from RBGE will discuss why taxonomy and the identification of species is important for conservation, how plant characteristics can inform our understanding of evolution and introduce you to the basic skills of plant identification. We will look at how identification keys work and build your confidence in their use through practical examples. Finally, we will consider how these skills can be used in your classrooms to make engaging curriculum linked lessons.

There are a limited number of places so sign up asap via our website: Events and Conferences | www.ase.org.uk

This is a taster of our full CLPL (2.5hrs) where we cover all of the above in more depth as well as considering the challenges to plant identification and gain more practical skills and confidence in using ID keys. The full course also includes access to some exclusive teacher resources and lesson plan.
