ASCE COPRI Los Angeles - Port of Los Angeles Dinner and Presentation

The Berths 177-178 Wharf Restoration Project is unique in its inception because unlike other projects that are required for maintenance or upgrade, this project stemmed from an emergency. From the ashes of a fire approximately 10 years ago, the design and construction of a new concrete wharf led to the coordination between engineering, environmental, risk management, consultants, and permitting agencies to design a project that suits the current and future needs of the Port, tenant, and other stakeholders. Once construction is complete, the tenant and Port will have an upgraded wharf with increased loading capacity replacing the fire-damaged timber wharf.

Speaker Bio: Angela Ragusa

Ms. Ragusa is a Civil Engineer for the Port of Los Angeles with over 10 years of design experience. Angela graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2015 with her bachelor’s in civil engineering and in 2024 with a master’s in public administration. Angela is the Project Manager and Specification Writer for the Berths 177-182 Wharf Restoration Project. In addition, she has written specifications for container terminal redevelopment, rail projects, on-call construction services contracts, and waterfront development. Angela is also a past board member and Chair of ASCE COPRI.

Dinner includes a salad, entree, and dessert provided by Doubletree by Hilton San Pedro. Bread and butter are included with the dinner, as are water, hot tea, and coffee.

A cash bar will be in service throughout the duration of the event.
