ASCE ATTG Luncheon: PHX in Flight - The Future of Air Travel

We are pleased to announce that Chad Makovsky(Aviation Director, City of Phoenix) will join us for our August luncheon to provide an insightful look at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, including its history, economic impact, key statistics, and air service growth, and will discuss the challenges facing PHX today and the strategies driving its future development and success.
The timeline for our luncheon will be as follows:

Speaker Bio, Chad Makovsky: Chad was named City of Phoenix Aviation Director in March 2021. He provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the Phoenix airport system, including Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix Deer Valley Airport, and Phoenix Goodyear Airport. In his role, Chad leads one of America’s largest airports with 25 airlines providing nonstop service to more than 140 destinations across North America, Europe, and Asia. Chad returned to Phoenix after serving as the Executive Vice President of Operations at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Prior to DFW Airport, Chad held a variety of roles with the City of Phoenix Aviation Department, Burbank Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, and America West Airlines over his 35-year professional career.
Chad is an Accredited Airport Executive with the American Association of Airport Executives and serves on its Board of Directors and its International Board (IAAE). He also serves on the Board of Directors of Airports Council International – North America and is the Vice Chair of the Airport Oversight Committee of the Transportation Research Board’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP). He also serves on several state, regional, and local boards including the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association, the Arizona Governor’s Tourism Advisory Council, and the Arizona Humane Society. He holds a Private Pilot’s License, a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Operations from St. Cloud State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business.
