As Is: Al & Stacey Schulman

Described as "nothing short of enchanting" by All About Jazz, As Is is the musical union of NYC jazz guitarist Alan Schulman and jazz vocal stylist Stacey Lynn Schulman. The group brings their new release "Crazy World" — an expansive mix of jazz repertoire combined with samba, soul and original material to the Black Squirrel on May 27th .

Appearing with As Is will be Philadelphia’s own Nimrod Speaks on bass and pianist and As Is producer James McKinney from Drexel University. Crazy World – the follow-up to their Billboard Top 10 charting album Here's to Life reflects the projects guiding principle: meeting the music — and the moment — exactly where it stands, without nostalgia, novelty, or artifice. "There are fresh new voices emerging who throw change ups into their songbooks and adventurously and creatively pursue giving a tune its full worth.
