Artworks Foundry Tour

For Bay Area Manufacturing Week 2021, the City of Berkeley Office of Economic Development is excited to announce a tour of Berkeley-based Artworks Foundry on October 6th, 2021!

Founded in 1976 by Italian builder Piero Mussi, Artworks Foundry is one of the nation’s leading foundries for the production and restoration of bronze sculptures, reliefs, and monuments. This event will take you on a tour of their space and will showcase their manufacturing process.

During the tour, attendees will see the 12 stages of operation of lost wax casting, see how a sculpture is transformed from clay to metal, and walk through their metal shop, gaining a better understanding of their story.

This event will follow all of the City of Berkeley COVID-19 guidelines (masks, limited capacity/social distancing, proof of full vaccination). Tours will be in small groups of 10 or less.
