ArtWalks + Artist with Rebecca Lipps

Celebrate our new Optimist Hall/Belmont ArtWalk with a mural tour! Join ArtWalks CLT and muralist, Talking Walls mural festival board member, and mixed media artist Rebecca Lipps for a free-guided mural walk on Saturday, January 27 at 3 pm. Experience firsthand how murals enliven public space, learn about street art and the Talking Walls mural festival, and be inspired by hearing about the creative process from an artist.

This free one-hour mural walk begins at the Optimist Hall. Meet at the main entrance near the smokestack. Give yourself plenty of time to park and walk to the starting point. The mural walk ends at Bird Song Brewery.

• Free parking at Optimist Hall for 90 minutes.
• Free parking on surrounding side streets.
• Light rail access from 9th Street which is a 10-minute walk to Optimist Hall.
• This is an outdoor event so please dress warmly if temperatures are cold.
• Food and drink for purchase inside Optimist Hall and Bird Song Brewery.
• Family and pet-friendly.

Rebecca Lipps is a multifaceted artist and educator living in Charlotte, North Carolina since 2013. Lipps is a muralist with murals in NoDa and Luminous Lane Uptown and she serves on the board of the Talking Walls mural festival. Her objective is to immerse her art in the communities of Charlotte to develop connections among the people of this city.
