DeJa Routt is a visual artist residing in Texas City, Texas. Her medium of choice is acrylic paint but she also incorporates watercolor, ink, and other media into her work. Much of her work is showcased locally or through the greater Houston area but DeJa strives to get her art to reach beyond the borders of Texas.
“As a painter, I embark on a journey of self-discovery and expression through the medium of paint. With each brushstroke, I explore the interplay of colors, shapes, and textures, seeking to convey my innermost thoughts and emotions onto the canvas. My work is a reflection of my evolving perspective on the world around me, capturing moments of beauty, complexity, and wonder. Through experimentation and practice, I strive to develop my unique voice as an artist, inviting viewers to interpret and engage with my creations in their own personal way. With each painting, I embrace the joy of creative exploration and the fulfillment of sharing a piece of myself with the world. My art serves as a testament to the power of creativity to transcend boundaries and connect us on a deeper level.”
Opening reception during ArtWalk 6-9pm.
Art will be on view and available for purchase at MOD Coffeehouse open 7am-7pm daily.
