Get ready for Artscape! It’s not just any festival — it’s one of AMERICA’S LARGEST FREE outdoor arts festivals, bringing the creative vibes to Baltimore since 1982.
Mayor Brandon M. Scott has announced that the “Queen of Funk,” Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, and 10-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan will be the Friday night headliner for the 40th edition of Artscape. Ms. Khan first performed at the city’s biggest cultural event of the year in 1993. Hosted by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts in collaboration with the City of Baltimore, Artscape will take place Friday, August 2nd, through Sunday, August 4th.

Opening for Chaka Khan will be Maeta an alternative R&B singer-songwriter born in Indianapolis who now resides in Los Angeles. Discovered through social media, Maeta draws inspiration from her upbringing as well as artists like Beyonce and Rihanna who have transcended genres.

Ms. Khan and Maeta join a musical lineup that includes the incomparable Queen of Percussion Sheila E. . She will perform on Saturday, August 3rd at 8:45 p.m. Other musical acts performing earlier in the day on the Mount Royal Main Stage include Joi Carter, Live From The Paradox, and WhoCamille.

On Sunday, August 4th, Artscape attendees can enjoy the sounds of Natasha Days and the Trinidad & Tobago Steel Drum Orchestra. At 3:00 p.m., the legendary band The Original Wailers The Wailers, featuring Al Anderson, lead guitarist for Bob Marley & The Wailers, will hit the Main Stage to close out this year’s celebration.
