Join the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice (RCF), Art Forces, the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural Project (ORSMP), and the Brotherhood Lounge during Spring Arts Walk weekend for a special social justice block party. This community gathering will be held in front of the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural, April 26 & 27, from 6-10pm on Friday and 12-6pm Saturday.
On Friday and Saturday ORSMP and Art Forces will be exhibiting art in the adjacent Labor Temple building and the Brotherhood Lounge. Featuring artists from both Palestine and the Olympia area.
On Friday evening from 6:30-8:30pm, students and faculty from The Evergreen State College will present Palestine Rocks, a live music and poetry show dedicated to Gaza. Shortly before 6:30, Arts Forces and ORSMP will speak about the mural, reflecting on its history, themes, and contemporary relevance.
Beginning at 12:30 on Saturday, April 27, there will be an hour-long speaker event featuring local community activists and organizations. Later that day, starting at 2:00, Jewish Voice for Peace will facilitate a “Passover for Palestine” ceremony. This will be a space to conjoin through grief, honor the martyred lives lost in Gaza, build community, and share resources. Join JVP at the mural for ritual song, light snacks, and ceremony.
Find out about all the opportunities available we’ll have available over the weekend on our website, https://rachelcorriefoundation.org/, or email us: [email protected]
We hope you will join us as we bring together the community and connect.
