About this Event

In this special Arts on Site workshop series, explore elements of Sam Jinks' hyperrealistic sculptures through drawing.

Led by artist Katie Barron, this three-workshop series offers a deep dive into the textures and visual language of skin and hair as portrayed in Sam Jinks’ sculptures.

Each session will focus on the intricate details of human and animal forms, exploring age, transparency, and the expressive qualities of skin and hair. Participants will work at the Art Gallery with graphite and coloured pencils to refine their observational drawing techniques.

Workshop Focus: Hair

In this session, participants will explore the expressive qualities of human hair—its texture, movement, and relationship to the body.

Learn the techniques to render hair with realism and vitality, capturing its flow, density, and character across different ages and styles. This workshop will help you bring dynamic energy and detail to your life drawings.

Want to explore more?

Each workshop in this Arts on Site series offers a unique focus. Feel free to join us for one, two, or all three sessions - each session stands alone while contributing to a broader exploration of hyperrealistic drawing.
