Arts in the Garden- Nature's Palette Workshop: Exploring Botanical Dyes

As Spring approaches, why not join OLLIE for a relaxing morning of crafts held at our community garden!

Join local artist Hazel, who draws upon her extensive experience from her allotment. Hazel will guide you in cultivating plants for dyeing purposes and reveal the enchanting process of extracting vibrant colours from plants such as marigolds, nettles, lavender, and hibiscus, along with colour-blending techniques.

You'll have the opportunity to create unique dye patterns on either fabric or paper, gaining hands-on experience. By the end of the workshop, you'll depart with the knowledge and confidence to further explore natural dyeing techniques at home.

Emphasising sustainable practices, we will use sticks and foraged materials to apply the dyes throughout the workshop, reflecting the importance of responsibly sourced materials.

All crafting materials will be provided for your convenience.

**Please note, all workshops are open to all individuals and families, however, those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Please note that this workshop is weather dependent, and so it might be subject to last minute cancellation if the weather conditions are too poor to run the event properly.
