What if discovering a future career began with an adventure?
Artivism: Vision & Voice gives young people the opportunity to explore careers in marine science, conservation, environmental education, public art, digital media, and community leadership through hands-on Adventure Days and Creative Studio Nights.
Participants will work alongside local artists, marine scientists, captains, environmental educators, and conservation professionals while experiencing:
🚤 Eco-tour and wildlife exploration
🎣 Fishing and marine science
🐟 Authentic Japanese Gyotaku printmaking
🌊 Watergoat cleanup and plastics research
🎨 Upcycled and wearable environmental art
🦩 Collaborative public art projects
🪸 Community reef art
📖 Environmental storytelling and digital media
🎤 Portfolio development and public-speaking practice
Throughout the program, participants will build creative and professional skills, develop digital artist portfolios, explore potential career pathways, and create meaningful artwork inspired by Tampa Bay’s environment.
The program begins Saturday, August 29, and culminates in the Artivism: Vision & Voice Giving Tuesday Youth Art Showcase on Tuesday, December 1. Participants will become exhibiting artists and professionally present their work to their families, community members, local artists, environmental professionals, and civic leaders.
