Artists
Alisha Sian creates contemplative and captivating visual representations of her lived experience. A fascination with sharp line work and a surrealistic exploration of human forms have drawn her towards a growing repertoire of mediums, such as graphite, ink, conté, and watercolour. As a brown girl with traditional career paths projected onto her since early in life, Sian shatters cultural expectations by exhibiting her work in galleries, being featured in literary magazines, and running a burgeoning tattoo studio in her private Surrey apartment.
Franz Seachel is a writer, (spoken word) poet, organizer, creative associate, workshop facilitator and multidisciplinary artist. Franz has a B.A. in Creative Writing from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is the Founder/ Executive Director of Enable: Arts Society, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting community-based and collaborative art projects by emerging and/or marginalized voices. Her work has been featured at Word Vancouver, Voices of Today in Toronto, Vancouver Poetry Slam, Richmond World Festival, Ode to Surrey, and Surrey Muses. You can follow her on Instagram, @franz_seachel.
As two parts of Sleepy Gonzales, Allyson Lowry and Cristian Hobson-Dimas embrace the softer side of the band’s dynamic while still holding onto the tension that lies in the themes and lyrics of the music they share. They appreciate the breaths and stillness between lyrics, between sections, or between songs. The little details layer and create an experience that invites you to become intertwined within it.
