Fin Culbert is a ceramic artist based in North London, working from Turning Earth studio in Highgate. Deeply influenced by her upbringing in Catholic Ireland and the industrial Midlands, her work explores themes of decay, historical traces, and hidden narratives. Culbert's ceramic pieces critically examine the portrayal of women through history, focusing on resistance and resilience. Using hand-building techniques with heavily grogged clay, slips, oxides, and underglazes, she creates powerful ceramic works that challenge traditional narratives. Her 'Saints Restored' series reimagines the stories of women martyrs, confronting historical representations of female suffering and reclaiming their agency through artistic transformation.
Lindsay A. Miller, originally trained in Theatre Design at Central St Martins, transitioned to ceramics in 2022 after years of collecting mid-century ceramic pieces. Her work is a vibrant exploration of three-dimensional form, combining bold colours and striking design. Miller hand-builds her pots using coil techniques, creating surface designs that draw inspiration from mid-century aesthetics and the rhythmic patterns of the natural world. Her ceramics are both playful and purposeful, carefully studying the interplay of pattern and form. Each piece reflects her keen eye for design, transforming clay into a canvas that celebrates the intricate relationships between colour, shape, and texture.
