All are welcome to join us for the Robin L. Bernstein's Artist's Talk. Hear from Bernstein about her recent works from the Beauty and Terror series. Part 2 of the powerful series, commemorating little known events of the Holocaust, is on view at Transmission Gallery Oakland. At first glance, the artworks defy a clear medium and process. They appear to be embroidered or woven, made of mosaic, painted, or sewn. The colors are rich and the forms are attractive. They are “beautiful”. The viewer is inclined to step very close to examine the surface. The subject matter of Beauty and Terror then becomes viscerally apparent.
Robin will discuss her process and the development of the series starting at 2pm on October 15th at Transmission Gallery, 770 West Grand Ave. in Oakland, CA.
