Yashira Lopez is an emerging artist and curator born in 1995. Based in Atlanta, she explores the intersection of Afro-Latinx identity and global perspectives. Through her curation, she challenges the dominance of tokenism in hyper-capitalist culture, promoting conversations on diverse identities. Yashi's past exhibitions include "Echolocation: Industrialized Persona" and "Past Present and Afro-Futurism." Her artwork has been showcased in various galleries and events, including Plug Gallery in Kansas City and Mint Gallery ATL in Atlanta. She is the current Curatorial Fellow for Charlotte Street Foundation.
Event is co-hosted by Student Art Society, the Art Gallery, Women & Gender Advocacy, Counseling & Advocacy Center, Women’s Studies, the American Association of University Women, and AAUW - Student Chapter.
