About this Event

Join DVCAI at Entrelazado Perpetuo / Perpetual Intertwining, a solo exhibition by Leandro Vazquez, for an artist talk and community conversation with fellow artists, community collaborators, and curators. The event will take place at the Monsignor William Barry Library, in the DVCAI at Barry exhibition space. RSVP is appreciated.

Presented by Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) and curated by Rosie Gordon-Wallace (DVCAI Curatorial Advisor) with guest curator Tomas Vu (Professor of Visual Arts, Columbia University), Entrelazado Perpetuo / Perpetual Intertwining transforms the gallery into an immersive environment of painting and sculptural installation.Born in Argentina and raised across Argentina, Brazil, and the United States, Vazquez’s practice is shaped by transnational experience—investigating shelter as both a physical structure and a metaphor for protection, adaptation, and home. Using unconventional materials and monumental forms, the exhibition invites reflection on the lived realities and creative possibilities shaped by movement, scarcity, and resourcefulness.

“This exhibition builds on my exploration of the idea of Continuous Collaboration. It is not collaboration in the traditional participatory or social sense, but rather an ontological collaboration. The work needs the world in order to fully exist.”
— Leandro Vazquez
