Join us for an artist talk with Jeremy G. Bell! The artist will discuss his inspiration and process for the work in his solo exhibition "Cosmic Tapestry" and then answer questions from the audience.
In "Cosmic Tapestry," Bell invites viewers to embark on a journey through the cosmos, exploring the profound interplay of personhood, identity, and existence. For Bell, “each brushstroke and color choice serve as a reflection of the vibrant hues that make each individual a unique celestial entity.” Through his portraits, Bell seeks to challenge and reclaim the narrative of what it means to be a Black American, offering a powerful counterpoint to prevailing stereotypes and misconceptions.
