In January of 2020, New York based artist, Kelly GreenLight answered the call from her ancestors to make a journey to East Africa. Due to the pandemic, a trip that was initially meant to last 4 months went on for a year and half through Egypt, Ethiopia, Tanzania & throughout Kenya ! For the first time since being back in the United States, Kelly speaks candidly about living and creating far away from home during the height of Covid-19. Artist talk features footage from projects Kelly GreenLight facilitated in Kenya including , , & More.
This intimate conversation will be hosted by Comedian & Liberation Strategist Tracee Thomas.

Kelly GreenLight Thomas is a multi-disciplinary Artist, Facilitator and Cultural Organizer from New Jersey with roots in Alabama & The Commonwealth of Dominica. For over a decade, Kelly has been creating performance & events around emotional health, women’s narratives, and nature. Kelly holds a Degree in Educational Theater from NYU's Steinhardt School, a Sound and Music Integrated Practitioner Credential from the New York Open Center, a Lomi Lomi Massage Credential from the Maui School of Healing Arts.
