About this Event
PFAC is excited to welcome Kelly Dzioba for an artist talk on Sunday, July 28th from 11:30-1pm. Kelly Dzioba is a textile artist based in Middletown, CT. Her work has been exhibited in the US and abroad at the Strohl Art Center in Chautauqua, NY, Textile Center in Minneapolis, MN, Automat Collective in Philadelphia, PA, and the Hangaram Design Museum in Seoul, South Korea. She holds a BFA from the University of the Arts in Craft + Material Studies and is a former resident of the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Kelly is a recipient of the Peters Valley School of Craft Artist Fellowship and the William Daley Fellowship for Study at Haystack Mountain School of Craft. Taking inspiration from the material culture that surrounds her everywhere she goes, Kelly weaves Mardi Gras beads to create works that seek to challenge the perceived hierarchy in value of art vs. craft.
