Continuing our Roundtable Artist Talk Series as part of the 7th edition of our annual fiber show Women Pulling at The Threads of Social Discourse: Don't Be Absurd this week The CAMP Gallery is sitting down with artists, RemiJin Camping, Lisa Rockford and Rosa Henriquez for insightful conversations involving their creative process and how they deciphered this years theme through their works. The Artist Talk will be talking place from 2-3:30pm in the gallery and via instagram Live through our account @thecampgallery.
Don't forget to stick around afterwards for poetry readings reflecting on the over 100 works being exhibited, performed by POP UP POETRY MIA's very own from 4-7pm to fill your night with amazing art and poetic energy.
About RemiJin Camping (b.1987, Philippine)
RemiJin Camping is a Filipina-American photographic artist based in South Florida. She holds two Bachelor degrees, one in music and one with a concentration in Photography, and a Master of Fine Arts in Photography at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Recently, RemiJin became an Assistant Professor of Photography at Barry University, where she teaches analog, alternative processes, and digital photography.
RemiJinβs artwork thoughtfully explores an awareness of the limited existence humans have and by filtering the world through her own life experiences, RemiJin reinterprets stories and emotions with objects and landscapes.
About Lisa Rockford (b.1975, American)
Lisa Rockford is an artist, educator, and curator based in South Florida. Reciving her BFA in Painting and BS in Art Therapy from Bowling Green State University in 1999, and a Master of Fine Arts in 2001 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Rockford since then has returned to Florida and currently holds rank as a tenured Assistant Professor in the Fine Arts department at Broward College.
About Rosa Henriquez (b. 1967, Dominican)
Rosa Henriquez, also known as CocΓ³, is a Dominican-American artist based in Miami who creates art exploring themes related to culture, place, and identity, creating a variety of artwork using, crochet, embroidery, fabrics, threads, natural fibers, and watercolors/acrylic paints. Rosa's art has been featured in various exhibitions, including the Copperbridge Foundation, Ancient Spanish Monastery, North Miami Beach Library, Pompano Beach Ali Cultural Arts Center, Brushes with Cancer in Miami and Chicago, The Camp Gallery-North Miami, Imperfecta Gallery-Oregon City, Miami Hispanic Heritage Cultural Art Center, Florida International Universityβs Kovens Cultural Art Series, and the AfriKin Art Fair. Her artwork was recently accepted at the Museum of Sexβs F*ck Art Miami exhibiting on February, 2026.
