As part of the opening reception for ArtFusion Gallery's STL 360 exhibition, join St. Louis artist Alex Johnmeyer for a special Artist Talk from 7:30–8:00 PM. The STL 360 opening reception runs from 5:00–10:00 PM, offering guests an evening of art, conversation, and community.
Recently named ArtFusion Gallery's June 2026 Artist of the Month, Alex received the honor after earning eight nominations from St. Louis galleries and arts organizations, recognizing his artistic accomplishments and contributions to the regional arts community.
During this 30-minute presentation, Alex will discuss his 17-year journey as a professional artist, sharing how he discovered his artistic voice and how his work has evolved over time. He will explore the creative and technical processes behind his paintings, the importance of authenticity in his practice, and the experiences that have shaped his career.
Alex will also speak about how his lived experience as a queer and transgender man has influenced both his artwork and his path as a professional artist. Additionally, he will reflect on 13 years of nonprofit leadership and community advocacy, discussing how supporting LGBTQIA2S+ communities and creating opportunities for artists has shaped his perspective on the role of art in building connection, visibility, and belonging.

About Alex Johnmeyer:
Alex Johnmeyer is a St. Louis-based multidisciplinary realist whose work blends vibrant color, texture, and symbolism to explore themes of nostalgia, identity, and lived experience. Working in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and texture media, he creates emotionally resonant works that invite viewers to reconnect with memory and personal narrative. Beyond his studio practice, Alex has spent more than 13 years serving the arts and LGBTQIA2S+ communities through nonprofit leadership, mentorship, and advocacy, helping cultivate inclusive spaces where artists and communities can thrive.
