Access riders are documents that outline someone's access needs (similarly to a rider for a gig!) They're a helpful way to communicate access needs to people you're working with, and mean you don't need to keep repeating the same information. In this session we'll take a look at access riders and how you might go about making one, and we'll also talk about what working with an access rider looks like in practice.Emily is the Head of Programme at RivelinCo and also works as a freelance access consultant. She has supported lots of organisations across South Yorkshire to put together access statements for venues and events, and has received training from The Centre for Accessible Environments. She lives with chronic illness.
PLEASE NOTE, OUR SHOPFRONT VENUE IS UNFORTUNATELY NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. You can find detailed access information about the space here:https://rivelinco.org/spaces/339-middlewood-road/. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to chat about accessibility at this event. You can contact us at [email protected] or give the shop a call on 0114 327 1670. Emily is our Access Lead.
This session is part of our Artist Support Hub programme, which offers artist development and support sessions for our community in South Yorkshire.
Tickets are £5 but bursary spaces are also available. To request a bursary place please contact [email protected].
