Whether you’re developing your artistic voice, preparing for an upcoming exhibition, building a professional portfolio, or simply looking for an outside perspective on your work, a portfolio review can be an important step in moving your practice forward.

Join BLOC Gallery for an in-person portfolio review with Brooke Walzel, artist, gallery owner, and curator, and Megan Randall, artist, auction coordinator, and curator. Together, they bring experience in exhibiting, curating, working with artists, and evaluating portfolios within the contemporary art world.

Each review is designed to provide constructive, personalized feedback on both your artwork and the way your practice is presented professionally. Before your appointment, Brooke and Megan will review your submitted portfolio so that your time together can focus on meaningful discussion and specific feedback.

Portfolio Review - $75 | 30 minutes
A focused review of your submitted portfolio with verbal feedback, professional insight, and written notes to take home.

Portfolio Review + In-Depth Counseling - $100 | 60 minutes
A more comprehensive session for artists looking for deeper conversation around their work, artistic direction, portfolio presentation, and professional development.

Please note: Although the listing shows the event time as 1–4 PM, you will not need to be present for the entire event. Your appointment will be scheduled for a specific 30 or 60 minute time slot at the time of purchase. Please plan to arrive only for your scheduled appointment window.

Preparing Your Portfolio

After purchasing your review, you’ll submit your materials in advance so they can be reviewed before your appointment.

Please compile your submission into one PDF emailed to [email protected] containing:

Artist Information

• Full name
• Email
• Website and/or social media (optional)

Artist Statement

• 1–2 paragraphs describing your artistic practice
• Key themes or ideas in your work
• What you are currently exploring or developing

Work Samples

• 8–15 images of recent or proposed work
• Title, year, medium, and dimensions for each work
• For video/audio work, include Vimeo or YouTube links and passwords if needed
