Join us for a special evening celebrating the opening of Afro Punk: Everybody is a Star, a solo exhibition by St. Louis-based artist Bharat Ajari which opens on First Friday September 5 in Grand Center.
Boldy neo-expressionist, Bharat Ajari’s portraits celebrate individuality, self-expression, and the layered approach to identity central to the Afro Punk movement. Reimagining sacred iconography through an Afro Punk lens, his work affirms that, indeed, everybody is a star. These portraits serve as a powerful visual inquiry into the intersection of race, spirituality, and the creativity inherent within alternative cultures and narratives. Please join us for light refreshments; this is event is open to the public.
