Artisan Academy: Shape, Light, Composition & Harmony with Richard Sneary

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
11/12/2026 - 11/14/2026
Intermediate + Advanced Students
This workshop will explore the fundamentals of drawing, perspective, design and composition, contrast, basic watercolor washes and mixtures, color relationships, and value and color studies from photos and life. Participants will learn techniques for simplifying what they see while exploring how mood, atmosphere and story can bring greater meaning to a painting.
Each day will begin and end with a demonstration by Richard Sneary focused on a subject related to the day’s lessons. Participants may paint along or observe as Sneary discusses his materials, techniques and thought process throughout the demonstration.
The workshop will also include one-on-one guidance, opportunities for questions and discussion, and a class critique at the end of each day.
Great paintings are the result of great drawings!
