Join us at the Newmarket Public Library for an exciting Anime Art Workshop designed just for teens! Whether you're a long-time anime fan or just getting started, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to dive into the vibrant world of Japanese animation and illustration.

Inspired by the iconic films of Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle), this workshop will explore the visual storytelling, character design, and emotional depth that make anime so beloved around the world.

What to Expect:

• Learn the basics of anime-style drawing, including expressive faces, dramatic poses, and signature visual elements.
• Try your hand at silhouette painting—a fun and creative technique that focuses on strong shapes, contrast, and mood, often used in anime to create powerful scenes.
• Enjoy guided exercises and hands-on tips from artist Alisa Kapnik, who will help bring your characters and scenes to life.
• All art supplies provided – just bring your creativity!
