Louisville, Colorado's First Friday Art Walk will Feature Nature Photographer Gerry Morrell at RE/MAX Elevate 724 Main street. Gerry's Photographs will adorn the walls and showcase many of his best photographs. There will be snacks and drinks, so stop by and say hi to Gerry and his wife Janet. Rebecca Saenz will be hosting the event at RE/MAX Elevate. About the artist:
Nature photography is Gerry Morrell’s specialty, and living in Colorado has provided him with breathtaking scenery and a deep understanding of the wildlife and landscapes that make the Rocky Mountain West famous. As 3rd generation Coloradans, Gerry and his wife Janet, possess a unique and intimate knowledge of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. This allows him to capture not only the well-known areas but also the hidden gems along the “back roads” where many of his most captivating images have been taken. Janet's keen eye for spotting wildlife adds an extra layer of depth to their work. Without her help, Gerry would not have been able to capture some of his most spectacular wildlife images.
Photography is not just a hobby for Gerry; it’s his passion. His formal photography training started over 50 years ago in Boulder, Colorado, at the Boulder Tech Center. He spent two years training in the Graphic Communications and Applied Arts program. In 1975, Gerry and his wife Janet started Morrell Printing Solutions in Lafayette, Colorado. Joining the volunteer fire department that same year, he eventually became the full-time Fire Chief and served Lafayette for 40 years before retiring. Despite his busy schedule, Gerry always found time to pursue his love for photography, a testament to his dedication and passion for the art.
Now Gerry and Janet spend their time traveling and photographing the back roads.
